As I got such a good response from my slow cooker chilli recipe I thought another slower cooker recipe was a good idea. This is one of our family favourites, its extremely quick and easy to prepare and tasty too! Around 5 minutes prep and 6 hours in the slow cooker, this recipe is so easy yet so delicious. I usually serve with rice and chips but it could also be served with garlic potatoes or chunky wedges.
Ingredients
- Chicken thighs (chicken breast could also be used)
- 3 garlic cloves crushed
- 6 tablespoons of ketchup
- 6 tablespoons of light soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons of honey
- 2 tablespoons of sriracha
salt and peppersriracha sauce
Method
- Crush the garlic
- Heat a pan to medium-high heat, season the chicken with salt and pepper and place in the pan and sear until golden around 3 minutes each side. Transfer to the slow cooker.
- In a bowl whisk together the ketchup, soy sauce, honey, garlic and sriracha.
- Pour over the chicken in the slow cooker and toss until coated.
- Cover with the lid and cook on low for 5 hours.
- Remove the lid, turn the slow cooker to high for a further 1 hour to thicken the sauce.
- Serve
